March Artist of the Month
Congratulations to Dottie Mitchell for being voted Artist of the Month with her collage titled "Petroglyphs" addressing the theme "Phoenix".
West Valley Arts Council and ALW Join Forces
The West Valley Arts Council has implemented a program to reduce graffitti in the area near their offices on Central Ave, in Avondale. Murals hae been planned and will be painted on walls that previously have had a high incidence of graffitti. Murals have been designed by a professional artist who will lead area students in completing the murals. The West Valley Arts Council has received a $1000 grant from the AZ Commission on the Arts and $2500 in unused grant funds from Art League West to help ensure the success of this project. As this project develops, ALW members will have opportunities to help at the mural sites.
